| Amid some of the country’s most dramatic scenery, this new hotel is built on a golf course and makes a great base for other leisure pursuits, such as fishing, hiking and horse riding. The setting for ancient sagas, western Iceland’s Borgarfjörður region is also an area of historical and cultural importance. The single storey hotel has 30 ensuite rooms – all opening on to the garden – complete with underfloor heating, local TV and wireless internet connections. The region’s natural beauty shines out, both in and around the hotel, with great mountain views from restaurant and cosy bar.
